Introduction

Hi, I’m Kayla — Let Me Introduce Myself 💚🩷

If you’re reading the very first post on my blog, I think we should start with the obvious question:

Who is Kayla Hofer?

That question is actually harder to answer than it sounds.

I’m a writer. A researcher. A creator. A mother. An entrepreneur. A dreamer. A student of life.

But more than anything, I’m incredibly curious.

I’m the kind of person who discovers something interesting and suddenly needs to know everything about it.

One question turns into ten browser tabs. Ten browser tabs turn into notes. The notes turn into more questions. Before I know it, I’ve spent hours researching something I originally planned to look up for five minutes.

And I genuinely love it.

🔎 I Love Discovering Things

Research is one of my favorite things to do.

I love books, writing, psychology, personal development, business, money, entrepreneurship, technology, artificial intelligence, communication, creativity, education, and discovering tools and resources that make life better.

But my curiosity isn’t limited to those subjects.

If something catches my attention, I’ll probably investigate it.

I love finding the website nobody seems to know about.

The useful app.

The fascinating book.

The better way of doing something.

The business idea that makes you think.

The piece of information that sends you down an entirely new path.

And when I discover something great, my natural instinct is:

“Other people need to know about this.”

That’s a big reason this blog exists.

✍️ Writing Has Become Part of Who I Am

I love writing because it gives me somewhere to put all those thoughts.

I can research something, think about it, question it, organize what I’ve learned, add my own perspective and turn it into something another person can actually use.

Sometimes I’ll write about money.

Sometimes personal development.

Sometimes business, technology or AI.

Other times it might be a book I loved, something I’ve learned, an interesting idea, a resource I discovered or simply something happening in my life.

I don’t want this blog trapped inside one tiny box.

Neither am I.

🌱 I’m Building My Life, Too

I don’t want to introduce myself as someone who has everything figured out.

I don’t.

I’m learning.

I’m growing.

I’m building.

I’m changing my mind about things.

I’m trying things that work and occasionally trying things that absolutely do not work.

I’m interested in what it actually means to create a good life—not just what a good life looks like from the outside.

I want more joy in my life.

More laughter.

More meaningful experiences.

More creativity.

More freedom.

More mornings when I’m genuinely excited about what I’m building.

More moments when I stop thinking about the next thing long enough to appreciate the thing happening right now.

I’m ambitious, and there are a lot of things I want to accomplish. But I’m also learning that life can’t become one giant project where happiness is permanently scheduled for sometime in the future.

I want to enjoy becoming the person I’m working so hard to become.

💕 And Then There’s My Daughter

There is another part of me that no introduction could leave out:

I’m a mother.

My daughter holds a place in my heart that nothing else could ever occupy.

There are businesses I want to build, things I want to learn, books I want to write, places I want to see and dreams I want to accomplish.

But accomplishments aren’t the same thing as love.

And the love I have for my daughter is something entirely different.

Being her mother is woven into who I am.

She has given me another reason to think about the woman I want to become and the kind of life I want to create.

I want her to see a woman who keeps learning.

Who keeps getting back up.

Who isn’t afraid to reinvent herself.

Who remains curious.

Who creates.

Who dreams ridiculously big dreams.

Who learns from her mistakes.

Who chooses growth.

And, increasingly, who chooses happiness too.

No matter how much life changes, I will always carry an enormous amount of love for her with me.

🌸 I’m Learning to Make Room for Joy

For a long time, I think I understood growth primarily as achieving something.

Learn more.

Work harder.

Build something.

Make more money.

Become better.

Reach the next goal.

There’s nothing wrong with ambition. I still have plenty of it.

But I’m beginning to understand something else:

A better life isn’t only something you build. It’s something you have to actually live.

I want flowers and music and ridiculous laughter.

I want interesting conversations.

I want to read books that completely change my perspective.

I want to create things simply because creating them makes me happy.

I want beautiful spaces.

I want adventures.

I want to dance.

I want to learn things just because they’re fascinating.

I want to notice the small things.

And I want more moments where I can simply think:

This is a good day.

💡 So, What Is This Blog About?

In the simplest possible terms:

It’s about discovering ways to live a better life.

I’m going to research things.

I’m going to experiment.

I’m going to learn.

I’m going to share my recommendations.

I’ll tell you about things I discover that I think are worth knowing.

We’ll talk about money, personal growth, books, business, careers, technology, AI, education, productivity, creativity, useful resources and probably some completely random rabbit holes along the way.

I’ll share advice.

I’ll share lessons.

I’ll share ideas.

And sometimes I’ll simply share what’s happening in my own life.

You don’t have to agree with everything I write.

In fact, I hope this becomes the kind of place that occasionally makes you stop and think about something differently.

🩷 This Is Just the Beginning

I’m not starting this blog because I’ve reached the finish line.

I’m starting it while I’m becoming.

That’s what makes this interesting.

You’re not meeting me at the end of the story.

You’re meeting me somewhere in the middle of it.

There are things I’m still figuring out. Dreams I’m still pursuing. Parts of myself I’m still discovering. And plenty of adventures I haven’t had yet.

So this blog is going to grow as I grow.

Maybe somewhere inside all of my research, experiments, discoveries, mistakes, recommendations and late-night rabbit holes, you’ll discover something that helps you with your own life too.

And if that happens, then creating this little corner of the internet will have been worth it.

I’m Kayla Hofer.

I’m curious.

I’m still learning.

I’m still becoming.

And I’m very excited to see where all of this goes.

Welcome to my blog. 💚🩷

Inspire. Grow. Live with purpose.
